Monthly ZVC meetings are held at the Banyule Scout Centre, Turnham Ave, Rosanna 3084 (Melway 32 A1) at 7.30 – 9.30pm (February – December) each month
Even months: on the 3rd Monday of the month.
Odd months: on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
Our Venturers district (Manningham) is bundled together with Banyule and Nillumbick-Whittlesea into the Yarra Batman ZONE.
For Venturers working toward their advanced badge work and Queen’s Scout Award, "Zone " is the place their proposals get approved, examiners are acknowledged, and completions get authorised. It also serves as a safe environment to hone presentation and public speaking skills, and adds to your leadership development.
Before Venturers come to ZVC to present a proposal, they will have already had an opportunity to explain to their UNIT COUNCIL what they propose to do, why this is a suitable challenge for them (worked out with their Examiner), and how what they propose to do will meet the time requirements and purpose of the badge. The UC will have given thought and support and sometimes constructive criticism to help make the proposal more sound.
Leaders get ideas and support, and information about training and coming events.
Once each year each group are expected to host the meeting.
Every youth Member is expected to attend at least ONE zone meeting each year.
Each group is expected to have representation at each meeting.
Leaders are expected at least one each term.
